What a cogent criticism of #web3. A must-read regardless of your enthusiasm for the opportunity that dApps and NFTs (and whatever comes next) represent. https://t.co/ugluneFmkO
Serious Q for my network: is there a *field of study* (e.g., information theory) about decision-making in situations where *the majority of data available* (80-90%) cannot be trusted?
For example: how do espionage field operatives decide what/who they can trust on a daily basis?
It will be interesting to read his new book and compare it with the Thousand Brains theory published by @JeffCHawkins (a theory that anybody researching general #AI should explore) https://t.co/zCXrKhrQql
Today I spent some quality time listening to this Twitter space about open source and career. It’s great to see so many young people interested in participating and contributing. Fascinating to hear their questions and doubts.
Soon, open source will have a bigger role to play https://t.co/9MDQ3OJ9eb
1/ For the last 20 years (no typo), I kept the volume of my cellphone on mute. Always. There’s simply no sound emission, day or night, unless I explicitly enable it to listen to a rare YT video and then turn it off again immediately. The additional friction is deliberate.
3/ It didn’t feel in that way when the sound was off. My brain didn’t connect Instagram to the familiar memories of going through TV channels during boredom moments of my teen age.
2/ Because of this, I’ve experienced the evolution of social media in a somewhat different way. For example, today, for the first time ever, by chance, I discovered that scrolling my Instagram feed is akin to TV zapping.
4/ It made me wonder if this was always the goal. If Facebook acquired Instagram planning to turn it into a full blown YouTube competitor. Into a TV for the new generation.
Sounds like a must-have book for anybody seriously interested in NLP-focused #AI. But you I’m biased since @huggingface is one of my favourite startups (https://t.co/bIswTNMpXh) https://t.co/cUF9nNczb2
