Serious Q for my network: is there a *field of study* (e.g., information theory) about decision-making in situations where *the majority of data available* (80-90%) cannot be trusted?

For example: how do espionage field operatives decide what/who they can trust on a daily basis?

This is one of the many thoughts I post on Twitter on daily basis. They span many disciplines, including art, artificial intelligence, automation, behavioral economics, cloud computing, cognitive psychology, enterprise management, finance, leadership, marketing, neuroscience, startups, and venture capital.

I archive all my tweets here.
