@jasmine_t3a To change, the #CIO must have a seat on the board. It’s absurd that we have embraced the belief that “every company is a technology company” and, yet, the one person responsible for technology enablement doesn’t have a voice at the board level.

@jasmine_t3a IMO, the #CIO is a superhero. Too often they are set up for failure, no matter their leadership skills or business experience or technical competence. Yet, they enable the company they serve to move forward. CIOs deserve way more credit than the industry gives them.

3/ Second, a #CIO doesn’t have the corporate mandate, agenda, and personal ambitions of a system administrator or an enterprise architect. These people perceive risks and assign priorities in very different ways.

2/ First, the org maturity across GEOs varies a lot. Regardless of the size, an org at the beginning of, for example, a cloud adoption journey will not assign the same priority to cost management as another half the way through.
