@stu I don’t think it’s the way to look at that, and I didn’t suggest that.

Once you commit to a certain set of AWS features, you don’t change architecture in flight. So new features are more of fresh options for new projects/customers.

It’s a constant new opportunity stream.

I wonder if the new Amazon Transcribe and/or Comprehend services could be used to finally create an always-on voice interface for desktop OS, one that understands syntax-free interaction.

I am surprised that AWS didn’t leverage @amazonecho as endpoint for DeepLens. A camera-equipped Echo would have been the perfect HW platform for both computer vision and NLP #AI workloads.

People don’t factor the time dimension, ever. I can’t repeat enough times. People are not static being. Their mindset and perspectives evolve over time.

VMs, IaaS are necessary transitions towards a more efficient way of doing things that will come.

I have been talking about Frictionless IT for 3-4 years now. No other company like AWS is systematically eliminating friction from each and every aspect of IT, realising that vision that I have in mind. #reInvent

For all those people that kept reminding me that serverless can’t do this and that, I have two comments I can finally make:

1. If you understand AWS strategy, you always have to think long-term roadmap

2. Today you saw the unthinkable become real, and democratic
