The worst thing that can happen to a company (and it happens all the time) is confusing the two. Executing without a strategy while believing that you are doing strategy.

Eventually, the market will realize you are moving randomly and will punish you for that.

Strategy is about *where* and *why* deploying your resources to achieve a *macroscopic*, final outcome.
The *what*, *when*, and *how* are about execution, not strategy.

As such, strategy depends on a full understanding of the landscape (and your own goals) at any given time.

Product improvements, for example, is NOT strategy.

*What*, *when*, *how* have to follow what had been defined by the *where* and *why* of the strategy. Without that alignment, you are executing random steps that will lead nowhere.

@mccrory I don’t know about that. The gazillion of podcasts that don’t have transcription will be never found by a person that could potentially benefit from them. The idea that the majority of people goes through the archive of recordings is pure fantasy imo. How’s that less ephemeral?

@bajorgensen 1y ago I decided to not include novels in my life-changing book list, but thanks for sharing, Bjørn. It’s a great story.

What is the book that changed your life? (not novels or religious texts)

Did I mention that @zipline is one of my favourite startups ever? https://t.co/nCyBna1N90

@mccrory But if you aren’t, the friction to do a Twitter Space is zero compared to doing a podcast. And that is my whole point.

I understand the friction in using Clubhouse 1 year ago (I used it once and never again), but Twitter is right there, already in the pocket of millions of people. Is it that we are slow in pursuing new opportunities or do we think podcasts are a better way?
