One day 2 dinosaurs were having a quarrel. In the sky, a distant meteorite was approaching. The 1st dino didn’t notice it, too busy fighting. The 2nd dino noticed it but, too scared to face the consequences, pretended it didn’t exist. Lesson: meteorites change nothing for dinos.

One of the most dangerous misinterpretation is the one that travels across companies as employees jump boat.
If you misunderstood customer demand or market trends in Company A and you’re poached by Company B, your perception will travel with you, validating a bias already there.

It’s in the best interest of the collectiveness to explore alternative research fronts that could unleash an AGI more similar to the human brain in terms of resource consumption and training time.

For now, the more intelligent the algorithm, the more resource-hungry and the more expensive it is. Training an #AI like GPT-3 would be prohibitive for many. So what if an AGI is only achievable via enormous amount of resources unavailable to most? Who controls that power?

I’m seeing remarkable similarities between Business Intelligence (do you remember it?) and #AI in terms of hype and #CIO dissatisfaction. 2 reasons are equal: unrealistic expectations, snowflake fine-tuning. 1 is different: data scientists and ML eng not equipped to talk to CIOs.
