There’s an assumption that the exponential scale & complexity of cloud infrastructures and application architectures can be addressed with more comprehensive/sophisticated monitoring tools. I think it’s a delusion. Beyond a certain scale, humans don’t know where to look anymore.

A lot of people in IT still choose tools based on emotional response and peer pressure rather than on their unique business requirements. You can tell them to do the opposite as much as you want. It’s like asking to change human nature. What if #AI would be able to test & choose?

@0xF2 Not what I meant. Middle mgmt is there to scale operations and theoretically avoid bottlenecks. A single leader with augmented cognitive functions might not need middle mgmt to avoid bottlenecks. All reports could be direct reports.
