Fantastic book: easy to read (for the most part), witty, detailed but not overwhelming. Possibly one of the most approachable book about genetics I ever read. The biggest problem of being 3 days in bed with high fever is hallucinations. Sometimes you don’t know what’s real and what’s not.

For example, the other day I swear I thought we sent a car into space.

Another thing that I said multiple times: it takes an average of 9 months between the time I say something controversial and the time people come to the same conclusion. I can’t tell if it’s just a striking coincidence or my typical claims require that much gestation in general.

@hodyroff @Google Everything we do is recorded, measured, analyzed, acted upon. It makes no sense to avoid that in the 1% of situations (by not using tool X) when the remaining 99% of cases, you still give up your privacy. You either do it fully (stay offline, live as a caveman) or not.

@hodyroff @Google As I said many times here, convenience beats privacy every day. The idea that using tool X rather than Y helps you preserve your privacy is a delusion. We lost our privacy long time ago. To have it back, the answer is industry regulation that applies to all tools, not boycotts.

If @Google decides to start innovating on Drive in a serious way, I see very difficult times for competitors.
