@jkowall We must have attended different conferences…

I’ll say this in the most straightforward way possible:

If you are an *executive* in a company that partners with, compete against, or build on top of AWS, and you never attended the #AWSreinvent you are doing a big mistake.

@j00bar If your car is at the side of the road with a flat tire, and a stranger stops by to help, and he’s an expert in mechanics, do you want him/her to help you as soon as possible? Or do you want a history lesson on tires, first?

@j00bar The perspective of a SME is *always* different from the one of the audience. It takes a lot of discipline to put yourself in their shoes and cut to want really matters.

I recommend this book (as a Christmas gift, too): https://t.co/Fw2j9hVETX

@j00bar No. That happens only in the mind of the subject matter expert, the speaker. The rest of the people in the room is there only with those two goals in mind.

Look at what people do during the history lesson if you don’t believe me.

Repeat after me:

History lessons are useless in conference presentations.

The audience entered the room to get an insight on the future (reduce uncertainty) and/or to get actionable advice (solving problems).

If people want a history lesson they google it (and probably did).

As both hacking techniques and security solutions employ more and more #AI and automation the cyberwar will increasingly become a war between algorithms, in ways the resemble algorithmic interaction in the financial market.

Things will happen faster than any human can realise.

This is one of the best (if not the best) @TEDTalks I have ever seen (in person, too, this summer in Tanzania). Quintessential TED, inspirational at so many levels. Must watch.

Keller Rinaudo: How we’re using drones to deliver blood and save lives https://t.co/p5ZAICMprx

The new “Enterprise Contract” for the AWS Marketplace is an impressive acrobatic. I am not sure how many see the long term implications of this if the initiative takes off #AWSreInvent

Indeed, this is just the beginning. Then it expands to cities, then inside commercial buildings, then all the way into the houses. And then you wonder what you should say and what you shouldn’t. https://t.co/XhuOpP3eo2
