I have seen calls for expectations resets endless times in my career. It never worked. Not once.

Excitement about emerging technologies is *necessary* for public support, venture fund, and market traction. At the same time, consumers have all the right to expect that tech X will just work. The two things are not mutually exclusive. It’s too easy to call for expectation reset

I started my career in #cybersecurity. On that subject, I wrote a book, created one of the first ethical hacking classes worldwide, presented on stage countless times, advised the EU…Who could have imagined that 20y later I’d have filed a patent with @RedHat to solve old issues

Also, these reports significantly deemphasise #automation adoption complexity, making it sound like #AI solves historical problems that are actually not solved or made easier at all.

The more I read press and analyst reports, the more I think it’s really bad that #AI and #automation now get systematically mentioned together. These are 2 very different disciplines with very distinct set of challenges. Synergetic, not synonymous.
