Truths about #AI:

1. Customers want the outcome of AI, not AI for the sake of it.
2. (most) Vendors don’t know what to do with AI as much as customers.
3. Both customers and vendors wrongly conflate AI and #automation.

Until we disrupt education, people will remain the weak link.

@egraciani No. Otherwise, every company using open source and/or public cloud as Netflix does would be like Netflix. Both are democratizing technologies that everybody can use. And yet they don’t foster a talent that is not there.

You put too much faith in technology. The right tech can increase talent output, but it’s not a replacement for talent. Tools/systems/architectures/patterns used by talented teams are not a differentiator per se. We have seen it with both open source and public cloud for 10y now.

– Let’s adopt operational framework X to do thing 1. It’s already being used by top companies A, B and C.
– But A, B and C are highly dysfunctional at thing 1
– Yeah, but maybe there are other problems.

If a framework doesn’t consider the human nature, it’s not a good framework

You can’t have self-driving cars without management (governance, automation, performance analysis, etc).
Remember that every time you think about how important infrastructure and application platforms are.
