China is now identified as a “Region” by itself, no more aggregated with rest of Asian countries. Another sign of how influential it is becoming in the #AI conversation.

While #AI in consumer space is disrupting/creating new markets, AI in the enterprise will fail miserably if vendors don’t understand a simple thing: customers have a proprietary data set and want to use it to enable a business case. Everything in between is not their problem.

“Alexa, what’s the position of the king on the chess board?”
“Uhmm! I don’t know that.”

And, 3.5y after @amazonecho launch, that’s exactly the problem.
We are so far away from an #AI that knows everything and can answer any q. That’s a key use case, not “Turn on the lights”.

Interesting question: “Can we sue an algorithm?”. The problem here is that with humans, the legal system probes the specific decision made in specific circumstances. With #AI, the legal system has to probe a thinking model. Condemning that condemns all its decisions. #LSEAI

Wonderful question about #AI, human augmentation, and legal liability. A question that remains unanswered. I wish I had more to write on the topic for my side project @hplus (https://t.co/7m1GuT6S6F). That question will become more pressing in the next few years #LSEAI

We built a functional society on the basis that humans are only apparently predictable, can make mistakes, and decide thousands of times per day despite (often significant) doubts. But none of these flaws are acceptable for #AI, even if decisions get measurably better. #LSEAI
