At last, even the @Instagram experience is ruined. Now every 4 pictures there’s an ad, in my case about cheap/random/untested gadgetry like in the shopping catalogues of the 90s. And lots and lots and lots of men shirts. Of course nothing remotely related to my posts or interests

It’s a shame because they had a unique opportunity to identify and connect like-minded individuals at a very deep level, and give humans an opportunity to feel less lonely. But of course, this is not monetizable in the short term, so why bother.

If you think about the innovations @Facebook introduced in its 15y of existence, very little was dedicated to actually find new friends or strengthen the bonding between existing ones. Most of the research has been focused on user recognition, profiling and ad targeting.

A great piece on the value of thinking about and showing a distant future, no matter how disconnected from today’s reality. I have met great professionals in their field that couldn’t imagine past 12-18 months. They all got outclassed.

And BTW, many have called already and we are actively working with all of them to deliver a lingua franca for the security ecosystem and enable security orchestration. For the ones that didn’t call already, please do. We want to work with everybody.

@rjhintz It’s one of the points. The main, tho, is that the way a technology provider / system integrator adopts technology (in terms of speed and allocable human capital) is completely different from a traditional end-user org. What you infer about the latter from the former is misled.

I keep seeing way too many surveys about cloud adoption based on ~50% of respondents working in SW/tech services. Those surveys are misleading as they don’t properly represent what end user orgs #CIOs need/do. Strip away those answers and you’ll have a better sense of the market.
