How hard is to cancel a service subscription? Sometimes, very hard. Some companies create an enormous friction to discourage unsubscribes. I wonder if all these SW/HW companies that are switching to such model are secretly betting on that friction to retain their customer base.

Note to self: add 3-4 years to whatever I am saying.

@fabiosferreira0 @Apple No. I simply replaced the machine with a brand new 15″ MacBook Pro (2018), which has keyboard issues as well (keys send input twice). Unbelievable.

2/ Because of this, I don’t believe anymore that the gold mine is big data and analytics. The gold mine will be found by whoever finds a way to apply #AI (not necessarily today’s AI) to big data to interpret what has been collected in an unbiased way, if that’s ever possible.

1/ Every day I witness confirmation bias in action. Sometimes, at scale. I used to think that a rigorous data-driven analysis would solve this problem. I don’t believe it anymore after seeing many analysis completely ruined by interpretation bias and quite a few misled decisions.
