It’s ironic how the #WFH social dynamics are becoming more complicated due to tech limitations. The better equipment you get to look good on camera, the more likely you’ll look away from your colleagues and more towards a fixed point, like on TV.

Shining, but disconnected.

What is the scariest thing that happened to you this Halloween? I go first:
I just receive an email titled “How are you defining the Edge?”

5/ Sales need them to be prepared and address any pushback received by disappointed customers in the field.

Simply saying “we are better than them” just blindsides and cripples your chances to frame the argument in a successful way.

4/ Marketing needs these things to frame a narrative that compensate any technological gap from the perspective of what customers really need vs what other players want them to buy.

3/ The BUs need these things to understand how mature their product really is against other players and build a roadmap to the future.

2/ Industry-recognized definitions, product categorizations (after use cases, not arbitrarily-defined labels), and unbiased analysis of customer demand are critical.

1/ The worst way to do competitive analysis is to just collect material about other players and produce something that makes your company look better in comparison. It only feeds the delusion that you doing great and the market will certainly reward you.
