1/ After years of Infrastructure-as-Code religion, we have almost closed the loop: we are finally realizing that SOME people prefer to approach #automation via #IaC, while OTHERS prefer to use UIs. And so we are restarting to see long-forgotten workflow automation designers.

2/ However, creating an interface with 200 forms and drop-downs to match 1:1 the syntax of the #automation language is not a healthy approach to workflow automation design. You barely decrease the complexity of #IaC, and, of course, the latter is more efficient.

4/ And even when the UI is done right, slapping one on top of an #automation engine is NOT low-code/no-code.

@MatjazMarussig Sadly, there’s no #NoOps. There never was in over 10 years. And it’s very likely there won’t be one for much more time.

There are only massively inflated expectations that slow down a more pragmatic adoption of #automation.

When I say that this is the decade of #Automation, I really mean it. Automation has started powering every other technology and solution. Even the “smart contracts” in the #web3 universe are nothing but conditional automation.

You really can’t help but see the trend.

Fascinating that almost nobody in the IT industry is taking the opportunity to set up Twitter Spaces for hot topics like #AI or #Automation or #Cybersecurity. All I see is an endless flow of NFT spaces where there are a lot of opinions from people that hope to get rich quickly.
