2/ Then I had to spend 2 days in reconfiguring views, tags, saved searches, shortcuts, add-ons to have really a powerful email mgmt system.

1/ I spent endless days trying to find a desktop mail client both very flexible & stable at scale . Thunderbird is the winner, hands down.
