Towards the predominance of synthetic actors

New companies are using artificial intelligence to create humanlike voices from samples of a living actor’s voice—models that not only can sound like specific performers, but can speak any language, cry, scream, laugh, even talk with their mouths full. At the same time, companies are refining the visual technology so actors look like they are really speaking.

We already accepted synthetic scene backgrounds years ago with the introduction of the green screen. Then we accepted synthetic (secondary) characters with the introduction of advanced computer graphic. Synthetic voices are just the obvious next step. At some point, someone with attempt to establish a synthetic primary actor. And that will be the beginning of the end of cinema as we intend it today.
