@4everfusiongal All sort. How you onboard workloads in cloud environments, how you act on performance issues, how you embrace new technology trends, and so on and on. I don’t have the space to be specific but I could be painfully specific as I keep hearing the same mistakes over and over.

@sallamar Too few customers challenge the assumptions made by vendors, analysts, peers. In years of endless customer meetings, I heard the question “why” a handful of times. A handful.

Somebody comes up with a strategy and nobody questions it. Everybody follows it, and everybody fail.

Oh so many assumptions supported by so little data

Today’s most valuable assets of any corporation out there are: data and people.

Technology is there as a gateway between the two. Fail at remaining the most capable or reliable or efficient or cost effective gateway, and you get replaced.

Technology gets always replaced.

You look at slide decks with strategy plans and architectural diagrams about digital transformation, cloud computing, security, AI, big data…they all look identical. Both the vendor ones and the customer ones.
And then everybody does same mistakes and fail. This model is broken

Can’t believe that some people still conflate “use” and “planned use” into a single category and uses it to infer trends. How many times does it have to fail to convince you to separate the two (and study some cognitive psychology)?

The biggest difference between Economy and Business class on a plane is not how big is your sit. It’s how they treat you. People in Economy class are treated with condescence, as children, enforcing stricter discipline and repeating everything twice. After 18y flying I can tell.
