OK. I think I think I have enough material to dedicate this week’s Splendid Edition of Synthetic Work to the impact of AI on the #healthcare industry. It will be just scratching the surface. There’s a trove of information out there.

1/ @djtgallagher writes for @WSJ about $ADBE financial performance. He opens with: “Adobe probably has a bright future with artificial intelligence. But it needs to get through its present first.”

But is it really “probably”? I’m not so sure.

2/ There’s an ocean of startups (and many more to come) doing incredible things with AI and a microscopic fraction of Adobe’s resources. And generative AI models are still in their infancy.

I wouldn’t assume that Adobe is destined to remain a leader forever.

3/ Adobe has huge expertise and it has experimented with AI way before many of the startups I’m talking about were incorporated. But the gap in capabilities between Photoshop & co. and the incoming players might shrink significantly because of AI, not thanks to AI.
