For an infrastructure vendor, embracing the app layer means developing domain expertise. Without it, there’s no understanding of the nuances around services, architectures, workflows. Other than saying “This is for industry X”, you keep serving the same undifferentiated workload.

@romant If you are not convinced, in the last week, I littered my social media feed with many, many screenshots of pages from this book. You could take a look at those and see if there’s anything that justifies reading the book for you.

Almost on a weekly basis, I find people that didn’t (and should have).

@romant The focus of this book is to talk about noise, not bias (which was more prominent in TF&S) and more specifically to explain *how much* of it there is in aspects of human life that we consider or expect to be fair.

Some core ideas are obviously recurring, but I would read both.

The fine folks at @CloudBoltSW published an interesting 200-people survey (74% VP titles knowledgable about IaC and DevOps). Among findings, 55% have difficulty creating consistent pipeline env.
