One of the biggest challenges I ever encountered is finding people that are truly committed and consistent. I often receive requests for mentorship or offers to help with my side projects (like https://t.co/vsOnfgvwOg), but people’s focus rarely goes beyond a first call or less.

I have had a few ideas about merging #AI and #automation for a long time now. Finally exploring them with the @IBMWatson team. It took more time than it should have, but we are on it now. There’s a great opportunity ahead.

I randomly discovered @abbyfuller. I spent 5-10 minutes reading her tweets and I’m still laughing. It happens rarely. Surely not the effect you wanted to produce, but thank you, Abby.

Blindly selling the same solution to all organizations, regardless of their maturity cycle related to the problem you want to help them solve is an enormous waste of resources (and even if you succeed, it bites back).

I think I said this for 10 years now: IT organizations are not static groups of people and systems. They mature about new problems in a cyclical way. Whatever solution you are trying to sell, you must understand at what point the org is mature enough to listen and see the value.

@_msw_ rPath was such a great idea, light years ahead of its time. But it’s hard to see the value of a solution for a problem you are not ready to solve.

We like to quote Deming with “Without data, you’re just another person with an opinion”, but the truth is that two people can look at the same identical data and come up with two completely different interpretations.

Even with data, you’re just another person with an opinion.
