2/ But that shouldn’t be the behaviour of somebody who really cares about spreading an idea to reach as many minds as possible.

3/ When most sharers realize that their message has been misunderstood, they blame a non-receptive audience rather than re-assessing their communication skills.

4/ The ones that do that assessment, might suddenly realize that it takes a lot of effort to translate what they want to say into a language that most people can understand. At that point, they rather give up.

6/ If, instead, all we care about is spitting it out, maybe we are not really sharing something because we want it to reach others. Maybe we are just trying to express ourselves by saying “I exist. I care about this.”. And, hopefully, somebody will notice for those 15 minutes.

5/ When we share something with the world, maybe we should ask ourselves “Why am I doing it?” If the answer is that we genuinely want as many people as possible to focus on what we are trying to say, then we should also ask “Am I putting enough effort to be clear?”

1/ The Total Addressable Market (TAM) is one of the most misleading business metrics in the IT industry (and possibly in others). It’s just feel-good numbers we say to each other. I said it before, I’ll repeat it ad nauseam.
For at least 3 reasons:
