Maybe you personally don’t care, but a lot of people would.

@ulgenwanders @akinomeroglu Why small? A *single* NFT sale (of a much smaller amount than most people think) would make a substantial difference in the life of emerging artists I personally know.
The *aggregate* of NFT sales could make a huge difference.

I see nothing small in this.

@akinomeroglu In a sense, it’s a bit like doing angel investing. Sure, an angel invests money in a startup to return handsomely on the investment, but there’s also the “I believed in Twitter before anybody else” component. And that component builds your social stature way more than the ROI.

1/ Speaking of communities: what if the use case of #NFTs for #art simply is a community supporting an artist? As the next iteration of #crowdfunding, not to bootstrap businesses or projects, but to support artists and creators throughout their careers.

3/ From betting on which digital artwork or collectable will retain the most value from a cultural standpoint, jumping from project to project to find the next big thing, to betting on which person is going to consistently deliver culturally impactful output over the years.

2/ The bragging rights, in this case, are not just about “I own a digital something that was originally made and owned by, let’s say, Picasso” but “I believed in Picasso before anybody else”.
