This is absolutely phenomenal. Thanks for sharing this, Mark. It’s the most effective way to explain the power and potential of #dalle2 I’ve seen so far (and it made me smile a lot). https://t.co/TbGJLqKidA

While all of this is very interesting, the research is only focusing on half of the trend. The focus should expand to *who* teens and young adults listen to on social media for news.
I bet that it’s their peers they trust the most. TV was about trusting experts and authority. https://t.co/5ODX8Xjp7Q

Why the recipient of people’s trust is more interesting than the media? Because in other industries (like IT), it’s been proven over and over that, when forming opinions and/or selecting products, adults, too, trust their peers more than anybody else.

In other words, trusting peers is a core human behaviour that beats any other form of trust relationship, and social media is enabling it in ways that TV or Radio never did.
That’s the hypothesis I’d like to see explored.

The new Ofcom report about news consumption across media in the UK: https://t.co/KyQOYShzyl
Top finding: people are increasingly using TikTok for news – 1% in 2020 to 7% in 2022. Half of them are 16-24yo. Instagram, TikTok & YouTube are the most important news sources for teens. https://t.co/sAhy03m9FS

@CarolineSalen @davenewworld_2 Art will not save Americans from themselves. Certainly not now that every single interaction, from politics to tech, is transformed into a “a fight against the enemy”.
