If you can do this with publicly traded companies, you can make a lot of money.

(most mgmt teams don’t do it. Not just because the outcome bias is hard to overcome. Also because people spend 100% of time selectively reading ridiculous biz books about successful companies with cultures inapplicable anywhere else & 0% of the time reading cognitive psychology)

What is the book that changed your life? (except novels, poetry, or religious texts)

“in every market that’s worth entering, there’s competition. That’s what you’re looking for. It’s a sign that people have a problem that they’re trying to solve through commerce.

The goal isn’t to find no competition. It’s to find a better way to solve the problem.”

@KavehP2 @Merzmensch @LorenzDeMed If you are referring to the use of the seed, once you’ll test the same seed across multiple systems (GPUs, architectures), you’ll discover that it’s all but deterministic.

There’s an infinite number of people on Reddit and GitHub complaining that they can’t reproduce the output.

This new interview with @EMostaque, where he spends more time talking about many smaller #AI models vs few very big ones, made me think about the scene from The Matrix where the knowledge on how to pilot a helicopter was loaded on demand, when necessary.

Is it better to have a huge general #AI model that very few companies in the world can train and fine-tune (because of cost and infra complexity) or a library of thousands of models that everybody can contribute to?

Remember that all the incredible innovation we have seen in #AI in the last few years, including the groundbreaking generative models that power Dall-E, Stable Diffusion, GPT-3, etc. exist because of Research.

Without Research, you’d have no products to build or manage.

What has to happen now is that somebody finds a way to achieve the same with an open source brain-computer interface like the @OpenBCI ones.

Then, we’ll see an explosion of interest in neuroscience just like the explosion of interest we are seeing in #AIart.
