1/ Millions of beautiful, awe-inspiring images are now overcrowding the Internet. And yet, very few care. #GenerativeAI has only made more evident something that previous tech already exposed: people don’t care about technique. We care about the story attached to an image.

2/ The art industry has learned this long ago: galleries and brokers are there to tell the story about the artworks, and their artists, not merely to display them. If you want to sell #NFTs or canvases, for digital art or #AI art or IRL art, you need a story that matters to tell.

3/ #GenerativeAI will not change that.

Unless, of course, somebody starts using GPT-4 to create fake stories about the Dall-E 3 artworks and the fictitious artists that generated them.
