Monolithic apps are ok (?) on a desktop computer, but on a mobile device micro-apps laser-focused on single tasks are raising. Just a trend?

Interesting how companies in different categories are decomposing monolithic apps into smaller, focused apps. 2 examples: Facebook and Adobe
